EV Charging Company recently helped a local NHS hospital improve its capacity to recharge staff and visitors’ electric vehicles.
Following a site survey, we concluded that there were numerous locations where EV chargers were required, and we had a clearer understanding of the feasibility of installing cables to the desired positions. We also discovered that the Trust’s existing distribution boards were full, so two new dedicated EVDBs (ev distribution boards) were installed, with sufficient capacity for future expansion as the hospital’s EV charging needs increase in time.
We installed eight twin chargers using a mixture of 7kw BASICCHARGE and 11kw QUANTUM pedestal charger. We were also able to provide line marking which not only stops non-EV vehicles parking in dedicated bays but as you can see from the photos, it really finishes off the installation and creates a neat, professional look.
Both the BASICCHARGE & QUANTUM are OCPP compliant, meaning the hospital can also benefit from using any chosen OCPP back-office management system to offer a ‘pay to charge’ solution via the EV drivers smartphone or RFID card and linked through a back-office management system.
Using our partnered civil contractors from Stockport Electrical Services we were able to quote for all the groundworks associated with pedestal-mounted chargers. This included installing ducting, ground root kits and tarmac.
The products used in this installation are OZEV grant fundable, so the project benefited from a £5600 saving on this installation.
