Most people think a charger warranty simply runs out after a set number of years. Rolec has changed that for its AC charging range. If your charger is serviced every year by a Rolec Approved Installer, you can now extend your cover from three years to as many as five, at no extra cost for the additional years.

Below, we explain how the extended warranty works, which chargers it applies to and what you need to do to stay eligible.
What Warranty Comes With a Rolec Charger as Standard
Rolec AC chargers are supplied with a standard three-year manufacturer warranty. This covers the charger itself and gives you confidence in the equipment’s quality and reliability from day one.
The Rolec EVO range is the exception. It comes with a standard five-year warranty straight out of the box, which we cover in more detail further down.
How the Rolec Extended Warranty Works
The extended warranty is built around annual maintenance. Your charger needs to be professionally maintained every 12 months by a Rolec Approved Installer, and as long as that happens, Rolec adds extra years of cover free of charge.
Here is how it breaks down year by year.
- Years one to three. Your charger must be maintained annually by a Rolec Approved Installer to stay eligible for the extended warranty.
- Year four. If your charger has been maintained by a Rolec Approved Installer throughout the first three years, Rolec provides a fourth year of warranty cover free of charge.
- Year five. If the charger is then maintained by a Rolec Approved Installer during the fourth year, Rolec provides a fifth year of cover free of charge.
In short, keeping up with annual servicing could take your charger from three years of cover to five.
What About The Rolec EVO?
The Rolec EVO is not part of the extension scheme because it already comes with five years of cover as standard. If you are choosing a new charger and long warranty cover is a priority, the EVO gives you that from the outset. You can read more about it in our [LINK: Rolec EVO product spotlight].
What You Need to Do to Stay Eligible?
The extended warranty is subject to Rolec’s warranty terms and conditions. To qualify, you will need to make sure that
- your charger was installed correctly by a Rolec Approved Installer
- annual maintenance is completed in line with Rolec’s warranty terms and conditions
- the maintenance is carried out by a Rolec Approved Installer
- your charger continues to meet all of Rolec’s warranty requirements
- you keep records of every service as evidence of maintenance
It is worth knowing that missing an annual service may affect your eligibility for warranty cover as well as the extended warranty benefit. Keeping to a regular servicing schedule protects both.

It applies to any Rolec charger fitted by a Rolec Approved Installer, provided the installation was carried out correctly.
