Project Overview
In June 2023, Trolex Ltd, a specialist manufacturing company based in Hazel Grove, Stockport, required an upgrade to their existing commercial EV charging infrastructure alongside the installation of an additional charger. Intending to improve capacity and ensure safe, reliable charging for employees and visitors, they also wanted their EV charging bays clearly marked with line painting to optimise usability on their busy site.
Our Solution
We supplied and installed 2 Rolec ROLEC0123B twin socketed SECURICHARGE units, upgrading the system from single-phase to 3-phase 11kW to provide a more efficient and powerful charging solution. This upgrade allowed the chargers to handle higher loads safely while future-proofing the site’s charging capabilities.
To complement the installation, we carried out line painting for two parking bays, ensuring clear demarcation of charging spaces. This not only improved visibility but also enhanced the professional appearance of the site’s EV facilities.
As part of the upgrade, our team also stripped out and replaced the existing cabling, carefully planning the new installation route to meet the requirements of the upgraded chargers. The work was carried out in a live working environment, which required strong communication and planning to minimise disruption to Trolex Ltd’s day-to-day operations.
The Results
The project was completed within 1 week, delivering a robust and efficient EV charging solution tailored to the needs of Trolex Ltd. The new chargers provide faster, more reliable charging, while the marked bays ensure the spaces are well-organised and accessible.
